HEX is Trevelyan College JCR’s student-led magazine. Originally started in 1997, it was a go-to source for all “Trevelyan College events, sports news, gossip, information and comedy.” The twice-termly publication ran until 2013 and has been restarted in 2024, featuring articles on a variety of topics from Trevs students.

History
1998 – HEX is founded

Graham Jeal (Editor) and Andrew Wrigley (Assistant Editor) launch HEX. Their Editorial Board consisted of Sports and Entertainments Editors, a Special Features Reporter, Webmaster, Treasurer, and an Official Photographer. The first edition debuted Dr Hom, a recurring Agony Aunt, a Consumer Review of every fridge in Trevs, and entertainments and sports sections amongst other satirical pieces.
“It is no surprise to me that the College is producing its own magazine. In its present mood, it seems as if Trevelyan can achieve anything,” wrote Malcom Todd, then Principal of Trevelyan College, in the welcoming letter to HEX.
2013 – HEX stops printing

After failing to elect a new Editor-in-Chief, HEX stops printing after over 60 editions and goes dormant.
